A Bucks County jury acquitted a 34-year-old Doylestown man accused of dealing methamphetamine in the area.

Jurors deliberated about three hours before finding Rodney Hogans not guilty of two counts each of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver and conspiracy and one count of criminal use of a communications facility.

Rodney and his younger brother Riley of Colmar were arrested for selling $4,800 worth of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in Plumstead and Buckingham, according to court records.

Riley delivered drugs to an officer and received the money for them on two occasions in October. The transactions occurred at a restaurant parking lot on Swamp Road in Plumstead and outside a convenience store at Old Easton Road and Route 313 in Buckingham, according to court records.

Defense attorney Michael Parlow said his client Rodney Hogans was arrested, too, because Riley Hogans returned to his brother's home after each drug deal. Parlow said police had no photos or surveillance tapes that showed his client was involved in any drug activity.

Riley Hogans testified at the trial that his brother was running the methamphetamine operation and that he was only delivering the drugs to people.

"He made up the facts against his brother to help himself," Parlow said.

Riley, who testified as part of a plea agreement, will be sentenced at a later date.
